New York Beauty

Found the top... one final press and I'll hang it in line for quilting.
The backing is tiny colored dots on yellow. Very happy quilt...!not quite twin, not quite full size. I'll call it "napping size" even though I've not been known to take naps! Geez, I might miss somethng!LOL

Modern New York Beauty...

Not sure why, but I'm finding that I'm really drawn to the modern quilts. I remember running across the "Fun Quilts" website with Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr several years ago and collected some fabrics and books. Fun Quilts is now called Modern Quilt Studio. (it still comes up if you google Fun Quilts) I had the pleasure of meeting Bill at the Paducah Quilt Week. He was very nice and enjoyed talking with him. I would have liked to meet Weeks too, but she wasn't there. (I did take an online class with her on Craftsy and would highly recommend it if you are into modern quilts) Anyway, I managed to find a "few" things in their booth. Looking forward to sewing that quilt kit from them!
In the mean time, I've pulled out some NY beauty blocks that will go into a modern quilt of my own. I figured it was better than the blocks just sitting in the closet and not being used. I put together the last unfinished block.
I had 16 blocks, not quite enough for a big quilt.
So, I put this last one together... I'm not normally a "pinner" but had to on this one. Maybe that's why I never finished this quilt. I remember starting out doing this with a friend and don't think either one of us finished it.
That's all for now. Have to locate the top and take a picture to post here...

A litttle behind...

Well, I managed to get a bit behind with posting here...I'll try harder to stay current!
I'll get caught up a little at a time...
to follow tha last post, I received notice that "Home At Last" won third place in the Indiana Heritage Quilt show!!  This is the picture of the handmade ribbon...I love it! Someone did
a beautiful job piecing it!  Maybe next year I can make it to that show... it's not too far from home.
