Highlights from Spring travels....

I love spring! It's a busy time for so many of us. While the yard and garden are calling, sewing and quilting are calling LOUDER! Here are a few pictures from expo classes...Atlanta, Lakeland, and Cleveland... I am over the moon happy, doing what I love! I'm so thankful for all the support from family, friends and students...

January Challenge Quilt: Mourning Crosses

In early January I joined a miniature quilt group on line.  It turned out to be a great group, very active and so inspiring!  They do some pretty wonderful  things, challenges included and the new one is "a quilt a month" for 2012 and all will be from Kathleen Tracy's books. January's challenge is Mourning Crosses, from her book Prairie Children and Their Quilts. I don't have this book (yet) so the block was drafted in EQ. I enjoyed doing the first of these little quilts SO much and am eagerly awaitng the February announcement. This is paper pieced and machine quilted, but on my domestic, not the longarm. The blocks are 3 1/2 inches, finished quilt size is 10x10.
With a little luck I'll have 12 little quilts by the end of the year!
